Polk boys easily dispatch Pinnacle Classical

All 11 Polk County players scored Wednesday evening as the Wolverines easily topped Pinnacle Classical Academy, 86-25, in non-conference boys basketball action at Polk.

The Wolverines (5-9) built a 45-13 lead by the half in making certain that Pinnacle (0-15) wouldn’t pick up its first win of the season.

Four Wolverines reached double figures – Wesley Royster with 16 points, Max Perkins with 15, Tyler Staley with 13 and Brett Bagwell with 11. Bagwell also added 14 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

Keyandre Thomas added nine points, with Shaq Wingo scoring six. Leading scorer Dominique Carson scored four points in limited action as he continues to recover from an ankle injury, with Omar Carson also scoring four, Bryson Edwards and Brandon West each scoring two and Grant Waddell adding two points.

The Wolverines return to the court on Friday, hosting Owen for a Western Highlands Conference clash. Polk Central’s 1977 boys and girls basketball teams, which each went undefeated in the regular season, will be honored at halftime of the game.
