Jonathan Collier goes up and over a Patton defender Friday for a field goal attempt

Patton raced to a 16-4 first-quarter lead Friday and went on to hand Polk County a 61-42 setback in boys junior varsity basketball action at Polk.

The teams played on largely even terms over the final three periods, but the Wolverines (2-9) were never able to pull within striking distance of the Panthers (6-5).

Khristian Littlejohn scored 22 points to pace Polk County, with David Duffy adding nine. Chase Stansbury added six points, with Jonathan Collier scoring five.

Polk County travels to Hendersonville on Tuesday for another Mountain Foothills 7 Conference matchup.
