Landrum’s first-half advantage proved the deciding factor Friday, the Cardinals claiming a 57-46 victory in junior varsity boys basketball play at Polk.
Polk County dropped to 0-3.
Landrum opened a 30-18 lead at halftime. Khalil Austin had eight points in the third period for Polk as the Wolverines trimmed the deficit to single digits, but the Cardinals were able to keep Polk at bay to take the win.
Austin had 16 points to lead Polk County, with Jonathan Collier scoring 15. Khristian Littlejohn and Nathaniel Harms each added four points, with Chase Stansbury scoring two.
Polk County travels Friday to Patton for its Mountain Foothills 7 Conference opener.
