A late Brevard comeback helped spoil Polk County’s hopes for a win Tuesday, the Wolverine junior varsity falling 38-35 at Brevard in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference play.
The Wolverines (2-8) built a 20-13 halftime lead and still had that seven-point margin entering the fourth quarter. But Brevard closed the game with a 17-7 run, inching ahead in the final minutes to take the win.
Khristian Littlejohn led Polk County with 18 points, with David Duffy scoring eight. Cooper Rhodes added four points, with Curtis Simmons scoring three and Nathaniel Harms adding two.
Polk County returns home Friday to face Patton in another conference clash.
