Led by UNC Charlotte signee Connor Warren, Mitchell defeated Polk County on Wednesday in a dual golf match at Grassy Creek Golf and Country Club in Spruce Pine.
Warren, the two-time defending state 1A champion, posted a 71 as Mitchell finished with a team score of 313. Brothers Brody and Bryce Miller aided the Mountaineer cause with scores of 77 and 80, respectively, on Mitchell’s home course.
Avery Harden led Polk County’s 377 with an 82. Tourin Jackson and Myles Menetre each added 91s, with Piercen Edwards recording a 113.
