Polk County's Avery Harden

Polk County took second Tuesday in a tri-match involving Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schools at Tryon Country Club.

The Wolverines posted a team score of 178, finishing five shots behind R-S Central and three shots ahead of Chase.

Avery Harden’s 40 led Polk County, with Tourin Jackson carding a 43, Myles Menetre posting a 45 and Tanner Osborn notching a 55 to account for Polk’s team scoring.

Also competing for the Wolverines were Turner Loveland (57), Addie Buss and Piercen Edwards (58), David Duffy (60), Jacob Morgan (61) and Dalton Dotson (63).

Chase’s Brock Reid earned medalist honors with a 36, with teammate Garrett Pinkerton firing a 39 to take second place. Aaron Chavez led R-S Central with a 42.

Polk County is slated to again be in action on Thursday at Tryon Country Club. That is scheduled to be an 18-hole match against MF7 schools starting at noon.
