Polk Middle golfers take second in tough conditions

Polk County Middle’s boys golf team took second place Tuesday in a tri-match at Meadowbrook Golf Club.

Casey Beiler fired a 45 to lead the Wolverines, finishing just three shots behind Rugby’s Jamal Hutchinson on a day marred by high winds and cold temperatures.

Polk Middle finished 10 shots behind Rugby. Hendersonville Middle finished in third.

Avery Harden posted a 46 for the Wolverines, with Reilly Yoder carding a 50, Anthony Lancaster notching a 57 and Logan Rhodes finishing with a 58.

Polk Middle is currently the second-ranked team in the Blue Ridge Conference and will be back in action on Thursday, competing against Brevard Middle School at Cummings Cove.
