Polk Middle golfers sparkle in winning Meadowbrook match

Owen Justice and Waylon Hill shot matching 40s to share medalist honors as Polk County Middle won Thursday’s Blue Ridge Conference golf match at Meadowbrook Golf Club.

The Wolverines posted a team score of 180 to finish ahead of Hendersonville Middle (206), Apple Valley Middle (200) and Flat Rock Middle (208).

Austin Love shot 51 for Polk County Middle, followed by Ethan Dotson (49) and Joshua Thorstad (61).

“What a great performance from the team (Thursday),” Polk County Middle head coach Kenny Hall said. “To have two medalists plus the other guys have their career low scores makes them tough to beat.

“Our next match at Cleghorn will determine who goes to the conference championship, so we’re going to start focusing on that.”
