Polk County golfers had another stellar showing on Monday, defeating a full field of Mountain Foothills 7 Conference teams at Mimosa Hills Golf Club in Morganton.

The Wolverines recorded a team score of 316 to finish 23 strokes ahead of Hendersonville. East Rutherford recorded a 354, with Chase at 355. Patton (368), R-S Central (371) and Brevard (389) rounded out the team scoring.

Chase’s Brock Reid carded a 74 to finish one stroke ahead of Polk County’s Reilly Yoder. Evan Jones added a 79, with Avery Harden firing an 80. Myles Menetre had an 82 and Casey Beiler finished with an 88 for the Wolverines.

Chase’s Garrett Pinkerton (77) and Hendersonville’s Ian Wright (79) were the other players to finish below 80.

Polk County now holds a 49-stroke lead over Hendersonville in the cumulative race for the conference regular-season title.
