Polk golfers take fourth in conference debut at TCC

1 min read

Battling gusty conditions, Polk County’s boys golf team opened its Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schedule Thursday with a fourth-place finish at Tryon Country Club.

The Wolverines carded a team score of 369, led by sophomore Tourin Jackson’s 85, which placed him fifth overall in the individual standings. East Rutherford claimed the team victory with a 338, followed by Hendersonville (354), Brevard (361), Polk County, R-S Central (376), Chase (380) and Patton (413).

Jackson’s steady play amid difficult conditions placed him just behind the day’s co-medalists, East Rutherford’s Brandt Herndon and Aden Spratt, who each shot 83. R-S Central’s Luke Young and Brevard’s Bennett Norris tied for third with matching 84s.
