Weather was not Polk County’s friend on Monday.

A rainstorm forced an early end to the Wolverines’ Mountain Foothills 7 Conference golf match at Connestee Falls Golf Club in Brevard. With players scattered about the course, coaches decided to take each player’s scores on holes 6-14 and double that for a final score.

That left out a few good holes already on the card for Polk County as the Wolverines finished with a team score of 376, sixth in the seven-team field. Hendersonville won the day with a score of 320, followed by Chase (336) and East Rutherford (346).

Avery Harden shared medalist honors with a score of 76, matching Chase’s Brock Reid and Jeremiah Wilson and Hendersonville’s Hunter Toney. Reid continues to lead the season-long individual race by five shots over Toney and eight strokes over Harden.

Tourin Jackson posted a 90 for Polk, followed by Myles Menetre (100), Piercen Edwards (110) and David Duffy (120).
