Emory paces Wolverines in golf opener at HCC

Polk County opened its 2019 boys golf season on Thursday, finishing behind Hendersonville and Brevard in a match at Hendersonville Country Club.

Carson Emory’s 43 paced the Wolverines, who also got a 47 from Hunter Lynch, a 48 from Max Zinn and 54s from Nicholas Wilson, Blake Rackley and Parker Dotson.

Brett Bagwell rounded out the scoring with a 59.

Ian Trace of Hendersonville took medalist honors with a 37.

Polk County is scheduled to return to the links on Wednesday, playing a nine-hole match at Meadowbrook.
