First-inning fireworks power Christ School past Polk, 14-7

Christ School scored eight first-inning runs Wednesday en route to a 14-7 win over Polk County in non-conference action at Polk.

The Greenies never trailed, nor did the Wolverines (5-7) allow the first-inning fireworks to subdue their determination. Polk County responded with five first-inning runs and pulled to within 9-7 after four innings.

Christ School scored once in the top of the fifth, then added four runs in the sixth to secure the win.

Wes Brady had two hits and three RBI to lead Polk County, which travels to Hendersonville on Thursday in a key Western Highlands Conference matchup.

The Greenies also took a 5-4 win in JV play.
