Owen snapped a 1-1 tie with four runs in the second inning and went on to take an 8-1 Friday over Polk County in Western Highlands Conference baseball action in Swannanoa.

Shaun Clemmer had an RBI double and Brady Parker slammed a two-run homer for Owen in the second, giving the Warhorses a 5-1 lead they would never relinquish.

Parker scattered four hits in six innings for the win, which improved Owen’s conference record to 7-4.

Polk County scored its lone run in the first as Bryce Martin singled to open the game, then moved to third on Daniel Painter’s single to right field. One out later, Wes Brady grounded out to short, with Martin scoring on the play.

Brady and J.D. Edwards each had singles for Polk County’s other hits.

The Wolverines (7-14, 4-7) host Hendersonville on Tuesday in their final home game of the regular season.
