Alm named MF7 Offensive Player of Year; Harden, Jarrett earn all-league nods

For the second consecutive season, Polk County’s Gunnar Alm has been named the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Alm hit a school-record .544 this season with 37 hits, 40 runs, 10 doubles, two triples and eight home runs. His on-base percentage of .699 and slugging percentage of 1.103 also set school records, as did his 30 walks.

Joining Alm on the All-MF7 team were Noah Harden and Mark Jarrett. Jarrett hit .325, second on the team, while driving in 16 runs. Harden fashioned a stellar season on the mound, going 8-1 with a 1.85 earned-run average. He struck out 48 and walked 24 in 56.2 innings.

East Rutherford’s Malachi Dato was named the Pitcher of the Year, with teammate Jacob Lee named the Player of the Year. Cavalier head coach Drew Reynolds earned Coach of the Year honors as East Rutherford captured the state 2A championship.
