Polk County had three wrestlers earn runner-up finishes Saturday in the varsity division of the North Knight Invitational wrestling tournament at North Henderson.

Chase Emory, Dustin Calvert and Anthony Marino each reached the championship match in their respective weight classes and helped the Wolverines place 14th in the 18-team tourney. Polk County only entered a few wrestlers in the varsity field, with many of its younger team members taking part in the junior varsity event.

Emory placed second at 138 pounds, falling to Josh Vance of Greeneville (Tenn.) in the title match. Calvert dropped a 4-0 decision to East Henderson’s Aaron Owensby at 145 pounds for his first loss of the season. Marino fell to T.C. Roberson’s Isaac Jimenez at 160 pounds.

Science Hill and Polk County were the only schools to have at least three wrestlers with top-two finishes in the event.
