Wolverine wrestlers top Warhorses for first WHC victory

Polk County picked up its first Western Highlands Conference wrestling win on Tuesday, defeating Owen 40-30 in Swannanoa.

The Wolverines are now 1-1 in WHC matches.

Satchel McCoy, Deaken Nodine and Jacob Knighton earned wins by fall, with Bryson McCraw earning a victory at 152 with a 15-4 major decision.

The Wolverines also earned three match wins via forfeit.

Polk County is slated to travel Thursday to Avery.
