Polk County’s wrestling team opened its Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schedule Wednesday with a convincing win over Hendersonville and added a non-conference victory over Tuscola as well.
Competing in a tri-match at Hendersonville, the Wolverines rolled to a 69-6 win over the Bearcats and then followed that with a 57-24 victory over Tuscola.
Polk County (13-2, 1-0) swept the night despite missing a handful of wrestlers out with injuries.

The Wolverines are set to return to the mat on Friday, traveling to Mallard Creek High School for the two-day Elizabeth Barry Memorial Clash at the Creek Wrestling Tournament.
