Polk County’s four entries into the 2A West Regional wrestling tournament all suffered losses during first-round action Friday at West Lincoln High School.
Each Wolverine will return to the mat on Saturday in the consolation bracket.
Freshman Darryl Ceasar suffered a first-period fall in the 106-pound class to Spenser Harris of Newton-Conover. Caesar will face West Lincoln’s Pedro Reyna on Saturday.

Freshman Preston Burnett also lost via first-period fall to Cole Galloway of Brevard at 126 pounds. Burnett will now face Drew Pinion of East Rutherford.
Junior Dillon Knighton fell to a second-period pin courtesy of R-S Central’s Jacob Fry. Knighton will now face Maiden’s Raymond Zavala.
Junior heavyweight Devin Panchyshyn lost a 5-2 decision to Smoky Mountain’s Andrew Lillard. Panchyshyn will face West Caldwell’s Devon Rice on Saturday.
