Wolverine wrestlers stumble at Owen in 44-33 setback

Polk County’s drive for a 2A dual team playoff berth remains alive, but suffered a setback Wednesday as Owen earned a 44-33 victory in a Western Highlands Conference match in Swannanoa.

The Warhorses picked up their first conference win, dropping Polk County to 2-2 in the WHC standings in the process. The Wolverines host Hendersonville on Friday at 6 p.m. in an important league matchup.

The Wolverines won five of their six matches by forfeit, with Anthony Marino scoring a decision at 160 for the other victory.
