Polk County wrestling coach Phillip Miller began the week hoping to see the Wolverines at 2-1 in the Western Highlands Conference race by Friday night.
Mission accomplished.
The Wolverines earned a 37-30 win over Mountain Heritage, picking up a key WHC victory in Burnsville. Polk County also wrestled Mitchell while in Burnsville and dropped a 58-21 decision to the Mountaineers, the defending state 1A champions and currently the top-ranked 1A team in the state.
