Polk County senior Luke Miller eyes Chase's Jordan Baxter during their match Friday at 190 pounds

Blink late Friday afternoon at Polk County High School and you might have missed Senior Night and the Wolverines’ final regular-season wrestling match.

Polk honored its four seniors and then quickly dispatched Chase, closing the season with a 66-18 non-conference victory over the Trojans. The teams held their Mountain Foothills 7 Conference match earlier this season.

With the MF7 conference tournament on Saturday and regional competition set for Feb. 9-10, Chase sought to protect the majority of its roster, forfeiting eight weight classes. The teams split the six matches that were held, with Jaxtyn Virgil, Aiden Billings and Jadyn Virgil winning their bouts.

Jadyn Virgil was one of four seniors recognized before the match, joined by Luke Miller, Logan Nodine and Kaden Vanderploeg.

The MF7 individual tournament will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. at Brevard High School.
