Wolverine wrestlers begin state chase at 1A West Regional

Polk County wrestlers will begin their quest Friday for a individual state championship during action in the first day of the 1A West Regional tournament in Mount Airy.

Competition at Mount Airy High School is slated to begin at 5 p.m. The tournament will continue on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

The top four wrestlers in each weight class will advance to next week’s 1A state championship meet in Greensboro.

Nine Polk County wrestlers are listed as entrants in the 1A West Regional. They include:
