Avery continued its undefeated start to the spring wrestling season on Friday, handing Polk County a 78-5 Western Highlands Conference defeat in Newland.
The Vikings won every match by pin or forfeit save for Christopher Wilmoth’s victory at 195 pounds. Wilmoth pinned John Hartzog.
Avery has dominated opponents this season, giving up no more than 18 points in any match.
Polk County returns home Tuesday to host a tri-match, facing Mitchell in a WHC match and East Henderson in a non-conference match. Both matches will be streamed live on the NFHS Network.
