Strickland battles at Women’s Wrestling Invitational

Polk County senior Tori Strickland ran into a pair of tough opponents at Friday’s opening day of the fourth annual Women’s Wrestling Invitational at the Rise Indoor Sports Complex in Greensboro.

Competing in the 100-pound class, Strickland was defeated by Ragsdale’s Cherish Charley and East Rowan’s Jasmyne Brown.

South Brunswick’s Lily Prendergast eventually won the 100-pound class.

Strickland and other Polk County wrestlers will compete starting Friday in the 2A West Regional at West Lincoln High School.
