Settles earns spot in regional wrestling tourney

Polk County’s Grace Settles has earned a spot in the NCHSAA Women’s 1A-4A West Regional, set for Wednesday at Mount Pleasant High School.

Settles received the 10th seed in the 100-pound class and will open competition against Swain’s Jany Echeverria, the seventh seed.

Settles posted a 13-6 record this season, including a second-place finish at 100 pounds at the Western Highlands Women’s Conference tourney.
