Rivera, Virgil earn All-WNC wrestling selection

Polk County wrestlers Jaydn Virgil and Efrain Rivera have been named to the All-Western North Carolina wrestling team by the Citizen-Times in Asheville.

The two Polk wrestlers earned second-team selection to the squad.

Rivera, a freshman, won 42 matches this season, setting a Polk County freshman record. He reached the semifinals of the 1A West Regional before being injured.

Virgil, a senior, finished third at 215 pounds at the state 1A tournament. He won 46 matches, the second-highest single-season total in school history.
