Polk wrestlers top Franklin, fall to Henderson schools in quad match

Polk County thumped Franklin but dropped two other matches Tuesday during a quad wrestling meet at Hendersonville.

The Wolverines easily topped the Panthers, 66-18, but suffered a tough 45-36 loss to Hendersonville and also fell 51-28 to a North Henderson team considered one of the best in the area.

Polk dropped to 5-6 overall. The Hendersonville match was not a conference match – the two teams will meet Jan. 17 for their Mountain Foothills 7 Conference clash.

Jayden Virgil, Aiden Billings and Amon Villarreal each went 3-0 during the evening for the Wolverines.

Polk County will make a home holiday appearance on Dec. 28, hosting Rosman and Shelby for a tri-match beginning at 5 p.m.
