Polk County’s wrestling team swept a tri-match Tuesday at East Henderson, defeating Chase 66-3 and the host Eagles 60-18.
The Wolverines improved to 9-0 in dual matches this season.
Silas Amorelli (106), Liam Jackson (126), Amon Villarreal (132), Jaxtyn Virgil (150), Brody Wolfe (157), Zalen McCraw (175) and Styler Blackwell (190) each won both of their matches. Conner Ahlert (138/144), Riley Morgan (138/144) and Andy Serrano (165) also went 2-0 on the night.

Against Chase, Amorelli, Jackson, Villarreal, Ahlert, Virgil, Wolfe, Serrano, McCraw, Blackwell and Isaiah Staley all won by either pin or forfeit. Tanner McKinney dropped a 9-5 decision to Chase’s Jayden Johnson at 285 pounds in the only Wolverine loss.
Against East Henderson, Amorelli, Jackson, Ahlert, Morgan, Virgil, Wolfe, Serrano, McCraw and Blackwell all claimed victories. Staley fell to East Henderson’s Colten Riddle by pin at 215 pounds, and McKinney was pinned by Gabe Jones at 285 pounds.
Polk County is back in action Wednesday, competing in the Jet Invitational at Enka High School.
