The 2015-2016 season continues to be a numbers game for Polk County’s wrestling squad. Namely, the lack of numbers.

With just nine wrestlers competing, the Wolverines dropped a pair of matches Tuesday at a tri-meet in Asheville. Polk suffered a narrow 42-34 loss to Tuscola and a 46-28 setback against the host Cougars.

“I think we could have won both if we had the numbers,” said Polk County head coach Phillip Miller. “I’m still recruiting. Maybe things will fall together some time soon.”

Dustin Calvert (160), Devin Panchyshyn (220) and Alexander Boley (113) each won two matches for Polk County, which will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Falcon Invitational meet at West Henderson.
