Polk County Middle's Silas Amorelli earned a win in his 76-pound match on Thursday

Polk County Middle’s wrestling team completed a perfect run through the first half of its Blue Ridge Conference East Division schedule, defeating Rugby 75-21 on Thursday in Mills River.

The Wolverines improved to 9-0 overall, 5-0 in East Division matches, with the win. Rugby dropped to 5-2, 3-2.

Polk Middle excelled throughout its lineup, sweeping the six lowest weight classes, winning five of six matches from 126 to 160 and getting wins at 195 and 220 pounds from Sawyer Huff and Talon Ramsey, respectively.

The Wolverines are off for the holiday break and will return to action on January 5 with a key home match against Apple Valley.
