Polk County Middle School’s wrestling team continued its winning ways Thursday, defeating Madison Middle 88-15 in a Blue Ridge Conference match in Marshall.
The Wolverines (4-0) won 15 of 18 matches, claiming 13 victories by pin and one by major decision. Eric Ramirez posted a major decision over Madison’s C. Baum at 98 pounds.
Ellis Searcy, Josh Odel, Coalden Cehan, Rhys Jackson, Boaz Wilson, Jax Gosnell, Trenholm McMinn, Isaac Whitley, James Logan, Theisan Gerst, Brycen Tuttle and Landon Plylar each earned pins for the Wolverines. Michael Jenkinson and Gabe Nelon won by forfeit.

Polk County Middle head coach Jerry Cox said the team continues to develop.
“We looked very good tonight against a rebuilding Madison team,” Cox said. “We still have a lot of work to do to be where we want to be here.”
Polk County Middle opens its Blue Ridge Conference East Division schedule Monday at home against Hendersonville Middle. The match begins at 4:30 p.m.
