Polk Middle's Acer Eadus sent his opponent flying and scored a win by fall Monday in the 182-pound class

Polk County Middle continued its early-season success Monday, rolling to a 75-30 victory over Hendersonville Middle in a Blue Ridge Conference home wrestling match.

The Wolverines improved to 6-0 overall, 4-0 in BRC matches, with the victory.

Polk Middle scored pins in 11 of the 18 matches, with Gorden Threlfall adding a 16-9 decision at 120 pounds and Sam Rhein winning the 195-pound class by forfeit.

Hendersonville did keep the match close early, with wins at 83 and 113 pounds making the score 24-12 a third of the way into the match. But Threlfall’s decision and Matthew Jarrett’s dominant effort at 126 pounds helped spur the Wolverines to wins in four of the next six matches before Polk dominated the upper weight classes.

The Wolverines have shifted their scheduled home match against Flat Rock and will now wrestle the Eagles on Wednesday at East Henderson High School. That match will precede Polk County High’s match with East Henderson.

Polk Middle’s Gorden Threlfall also had his opponent airborne while scoring a win by decision at 120 pounds
