Polk Middle qualifies 10 for conference wrestling tournament

Polk County Middle qualified 10 individual wrestlers for Thursday’s Blue Ridge Conference tournament at Madison.

The Wolverines had four wrestlers earn No. 1 seeds in their weight classes, with another three earning No. 2 seeds for the conference tournament.

Polk Middle wrapped up its regular season on Monday with a 66-42 loss at Rugby. The Wolverines finished the year with a 5-5 record.

The Wolverines had five wrestlers reach the championship round at the 2020 tourney, with Topher Pearson winning his weight class, and placed sixth in the team standings with seven wrestlers finishing in the top four, a school record.
