Polk County Middle prepared Thursday for a pair of showdowns next week, downing Brevard Middle 75-24 in Blue Ridge Conference wrestling action in Brevard.
The Wolverines improved to 6-1 with the win and also took sole possession of first place in the BRC’s East Division thanks to Flat Rock’s 51-48 win over Rugby.
Polk Middle hosts Rugby on Monday, then hosts BRC West Division leader Waynesville on Thursday.

The Wolverines lost just two matches on the mat Thursday, and five Polk wrestlers maintained their unbeaten records – Carson Bell, Brody Wolfe, Blake Cole and Aiden Billings all improved to 7-0, with Zalen McCraw now 5-0.
