Polk County wrestlers suffer setbacks to East Henderson, Pisgah

Polk County’s wrestling squad dropped a pair of dual matches Tuesday night, falling 46-24 to East Henderson and 61-3 to Pisgah in action at East Henderson.

Its lineup still very much in flux as a number of recent arrivals from the football program round into shape, the Wolverines forfeited several weight classes in each match.

In the East match, Chase Emory pinned Cody Barber in the 132-pound class, while Franklin Sandoval pinned Kyle Fogleman at 152. Gabe Lail and Ian Garrett each won by forfeit to round out Polk’s scoring.

Chandler Patrick recorded Polk’s only win in its match with Pisgah, winning a 12-10 decision over Aiden Rogers at 160.

The Wolverines return to action this weekend at the Falcon Frenzy tournament at West Henderson. One of the premier wrestling tournaments in the area, the Frenzy takes place Friday and Saturday.
