Polk County Middle wrestlers suffer setback at Apple Valley

The growing process continued Monday for Polk County Middle School’s wrestling squad.

The Wolverines dropped a 72-25 decision at Apple Valley in Blue Ridge Middle School Conference action. But Polk County head coach Ben Johnson saw contined signs of improvement for his young team.

“We’ve got to regroup tomorrow at practice and go back and learn some moves,” Johnson said. “The biggest issue now is that we’ll get halfway through a move and the guys will forget the rest.

“Most of these guys are first-year wrestlers, but we’re improving every day.”
