Nodine leads Polk wrestlers at opening day of 2A West Regional

Polk County senior Deaken Nodine scored the only win Friday for the Wolverines at the opening day of the 2A West Regional at West Lincoln High School.

Nodine defeated Bandys’ Trey Story to open the tournament. He then fell in the quarterfinals to Bunker Hill’s Alex Betancourt.

All six Polk County wrestlers will be in action on Saturday in the consolation bracket, looking to earn a top-four finish and a trip to next week’s state 2A tournament.
