Many of its starters still playing football, Polk County dropped a pair of non-conference wrestling matches Thursday night in a tri-match at Polk County.
The Wolverines fell to Crest and West Henderson by identical 60-15 scores. While all three schools are still involved in the football postseason, the 3A Chargers and Falcons were able to fill nearly every weight class, racking up points where Polk County was forced to forfeit.
State-ranked sophomore Chase Emory won both of his matches at 145 to improve to 4-0 on the season, with Dustin Calvert also improving to 4-0 with a decision and forfeit. Cameron Reed defeated Crest’s Dalton Kendrick by pin and Triston Watkins earned a forfeit against West Henderson for the Wolverines’ other individual wins.

Now 2-2, Polk County is slated to host another tri-match on Tuesday, with North Henderson and Cherokee competing in action beginning at 5 p.m.
