Dwindling Wolverine wrestlers drop pair at WHC tri-meet

With just six healthy wrestlers available Friday, Polk County dropped a pair of Western Highlands Conference matches in a tri-meet at Mitchell.

The Wolverines dropped an 84-0 decision to defending 1A state champion Mitchell and a 54-18 loss to Mountain Heritage.

In the Mountain Heritage match, the Wolverines got pins from Triston Watkins at 106 and Devin Panchyshyn at 220. Alexander Boley earned a forfeit at 113.

Chase Underwood, Braden Miller and Gabe Lail were the Wolverines’ other active competitors.

Polk County is slated to return to action on Friday, traveling to Hendersonville for another WHC match.
