Area wrestlers set to compete in conference tournaments

Wrestlers from Polk County High School and Polk County Middle School will move into postseason action beginning Friday with their respective conference tournaments.

PCHS wrestlers will travel to Madison on Friday for the Western Highlands Conference tournament. Though not expected to compete for the team title, Polk County will look to bring home individual titles. Devin Panchyshyn, Dillon Knighton and Triston Watkins head the group of Polk wrestlers seeking to be WHC champions.

Polk County Middle School will then send six competitors to the Blue Ridge Middle School Conference tournament on Saturday at North Henderson. The meet begins at 9 a.m.

Competing for the Wolverines will be Jacob Knighton (115), Kaden Jobe (128), Brady Hall (140), Lane Smith (197), Ethan Beck (222) and Austin Waters (252).
