Polk County’s wrestling team now knows when, where and who it will face in the state 3A dual team quarterfinals.
The Wolverines will travel Tuesday to Wheatmore High School and will face Mount Airy, the winner advancing to the 3A West Regional final. That, too, will be at Wheatmore on Tuesday as will the state championship match.
Mount Airy (24-1) reached the 1A state final a year ago, defeating Robbinsville in the West Regional final at Polk County.

All eight remaining 3A teams will converge Tuesday at Wheatmore, located in Trinity. Pairings for the quarterfinals include:
West
No. 3 Polk County vs. No. 2 Mount Airy
No. 5 West Lincoln vs. No. 1 Lincolnton
East
No. 13 Ayden-Grifton vs. No. 1 Trinity
No. 3 Eastern Randolph vs. No. 2 Wheatmore
Starting times for the matches remain to be announced.
