2A state wrestling tournament, day 2: Emory finishes sixth in state

1 min read

Polk County sophomore Chase Emory wanted to make a statement at the state 2A wrestling tournament.

Mission accomplished.

Emory reached the 138-pound consolation semifinals Saturday before falling to Thomasville’s Khyree Colson, 10-6. That dropped Emory into a match to decide fifth place with Bunker Hill’s Bernie Briley, who defeated Emory last week in the final of the 2A Western Regional. Briley again emerged the winner, handing Emory a 6-2 loss that left the Polk wrestler in sixth place
