Wolverines top Mountaineers in four sets in non-conference battle

Polk County’s volleyball team traveled to Rosman on Monday, then trekked to Kings Mountain on Tuesday night – and came away a winner in both instances.

The Wolverines earned their sixth straight win on Tuesday, topping Kings Mountain in four sets in a non-conference match. Polk County took a 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 25-21 win.

Reagan Waddell had 12 kills and 29 digs for Polk County, with Addie Lynch providing more offense with eight kills as well as 11 digs. Georgia Garrett had a solid all-around game with five kills, four blocks, 14 assists and 22 digs.

Cameron Capozzi had seven kills and 19 digs to help the Polk attack. Kendall Hall had 36 digs and five aces and Lauren Ketwitz had 16 assists and 15 digs.

Now 8-3, Polk County returns home on Thursday to face Owen in a Western Highlands Conference match.
