Wolverines to host Gray Stone Day in 5 p.m. playoff match

Polk County will continue its push for a state volleyball championship on Thursday when the Wolverines host Gray Stone Day in the second round of the 1A playoffs.

The match is set for 5 p.m. at Polk County, with the Wolverines (16-8) looking to defeat a Gray Stone Day squad that upset South Stokes in the first round. The 13-7 Knights are seeded 22nd in the 1A West bracket and have won nine of their last 10 matches.

Polk County will be looking to advance to the third round for the third time in the past four seasons.
