Polk County continued its strong conference campaign Tuesday evening, sweeping Mountain Heritage in a Western Highlands Conference volleyball match in Burnsville.
The 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 victory improved the Wolverines’ record to 11-9 overall and 7-2 in conference play, while Mountain Heritage dropped to 4-11, 1-7.
Akeela Cunningham and Reeve Carroll led the Wolverines’ offensive attack with 11 kills each. Carroll added nine digs and an ace while Cunningham contributed 14 digs and a block.

Senior Charley Dusenbury ran the offense with 16 assists while adding six kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Abby Lewis supported the setting duties with eight assists and made her presence felt from the service line with three aces.
Aslyn Scruggs collected seven digs and Elena Greve providing strong front-row presence with three blocks.
The win comes at a crucial time for Polk County, snapping a four-game losing streak and building momentum as the regular season enters its final stretch. The Wolverines will look to keep their positive momentum going when they host West Henderson on Wednesday in a non-conference match.
