Wolverines sweep Madison in conference opener

Polk County opened defense of its Western Highlands Conference championship in style on Thursday, routing Madison in straight sets at Polk.

The Wolverines rolled to a 25-14, 25-16, 25-13 win, improving to 3-2 overall, 1-0 in league play and snapping a two-match losing streak.

Reagan Waddell had 11 kills and 12 digs for Polk County, with Addie Lynch finishing with seven kills, seven digs and two aces. Ashley Love had 12 digs, Kendall Hall had 16 digs and two aces and Savannah Ross had 27 assists and two aces.

Madison dropped to 1-4 overall, 0-1 in conference play with the defeat.

Polk County will next face T.C. Roberson, hosting the Rams on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
