Polk County’s unbeaten start to the 2019 volleyball season came to an end Thursday, the Wolverines dropping a 3-1 decision at Brevard.

The Blue Devils earned a 25-18, 20-25, 25-13, 25-21 win to improve to 4-4 on the season. Polk County dropped to 4-1 with the loss.

Sydney Waldman had 19 assists, 11 digs and five blocks for Polk, with Grace Lauer finishing with 12 kills and five blocks. Mireya Roman had six kills while Kristen Hall had 14 digs and four kills.

Marilyn Castillo added four kills and three aces and Marissa Twitty had four kills.

Polk County is back on the road Wednesday, traveling to East Henderson for a non-conference match.
