Polk County continued its early-season unbeaten run on Thursday, traveling to Newland and sweeping Avery in Western Highlands Conference volleyball action.
The Wolverines (4-0, 2-0) earned a 25-14, 25-13, 25-22 victory over the Vikings (2-1,1-1). The win was the 125th of head coach Molly Hill’s career.
Senior Kristen Hall had her second double-double of the week with 19 digs and 10 kills for Polk County, with Marissa Twitty recording nine kills, two blocks and six aces. Freshman Ada Kelley had three kills and two blocks.
Emmie McDowell had 29 assists and seven digs, with Rollins Carter notching eight digs. Rachael Davis added five digs and a kill.
Polk County is back on the court on Friday, making their home debut against Madison. That game will be broadcast live on the NFHS Network.
