MaxPreps’ computer rankings say that Polk County is currently the best 1A volleyball team in North Carolina.

The Wolverines moved into the top spot on Friday in the state rankings, which MaxPreps compiles based on game results and uses a proprietary system to determine. The rankings are updated every Tuesday and Friday during the season.

Polk County (7-1) sits ahead of Robbinsville (9-0), defending state champion Falls Lake Academy (9-2), East Surry (10-3) and Camden County (7-2).
